Locally Sourced - Food & Drink

Our area is home to a wealth of excellent food and drink producers and we bring you our pick of the best local sources for gourmet treats. From artisan producers to award winners and suppliers of Michelin starred restaurants. The region spanning South Warwickshire, North Cotswolds and South Worcestershire is a definite must for lovers of great food and drink.

While restaurants may still be in lockdown, take a look at the following producers to get a flavour of what this region can offer and sample some by ordering online.

  • Farm Shops are plentiful and some of the best on our doorstep are The Cotswold Food Store & Café in Longborough, Vegetable Matters on the edge of Chipping Campden, the well known Daylesford Organic just outside Kingham, and very local favourites such as Pages Farm Shop and  Lower Clopton Farm Shop near Mickleton, Hunscote Farm Shop near Charlecote and Talton Mill near Newbold on Stour.
  • Monsoon Estates Coffee Company on the Alscot Estate near Stratford upon Avon is a traditional craft coffee roastery producing award winning and delicious coffee. One of their best sellers is Monsoon Espresso.
  • A double gin: artisan gin from this region has achieved great acclaim. The Shakespeare Distillery produces such delicate flavours as Elderflower & Quince, Rhubarb, and Blackberry. The Cotswold Distillery, also close by, has produced award winning Cotswolds London Dry Gin (and whisky) and its new summer exclusive is Wildflower Gin.
  • For wine head to local vineyards Welcombe Hills and Bearley near Stratford upon Avon and Little Oak Vineyard in Chipping Campden, as well as Sheldons the excellently stocked wine merchants in Shipston on Stour.
  • If beer is your favourite tipple, we recommend two great family run local breweries, Donnington Brewery near Stow on the Wold and the Hook Norton Brewery. The latter historic family owned brewery produces handcrafted cask ales, keg beers and ciders, still delivering by shire horse and dray to some of the brewery’s local pubs.
  • Paddock Farm Butchery rear their own native breed Tamworth pigs and supply locally sourced beef, pork, lamb, poultry and game. Their meat is revered by several Michelin starred restaurants as they ship all over the country.
  • For BBQ enthusiasts, the Fosseway Garden Centre stocks a large variety of top of the range Weber grill equipment.
  • In Stratford upon Avon try the famous London cheesemongers Paxford & Whitfield for their quality, advice and artisan cheeses. Another favourite is The Cotswold Cheese Company, which has shops in Stow on the Wold, Moreton in Marsh and Burford and is extremely well stocked with local cheeses.
  • The Vale of Evesham is renowned for fruit and veg production, especially seasonal asparagus. A number of growers farm to the highest standards in some of the best soils, supplying regional and national grocers and supermarkets.
